CANADA DAY 2002
The Festival Committee is pleased to announce that there will
be a "Canada Day Celebration" July 1" 2002 at the Larder Lake
Recreation Centre
Our theme is FAMILY FUN DAY"
We are planning many great activities geared to the family and
sponsored by local merchants and service clubs.
The day starts 11.00 A.M. with a Best Decorated "WHEELS" contest
for an ages. Get the whole family involved decorating bikes,
carriages, scooters wagons etc. The parade starts at the playground
on 9th Ave along MacDonald Street to the rec centre where all the
other activities will take place. Please congregate at the park
by 10.30 am.
There will be a ceremony at 12 Noon to wish Canada "Happy
Birthday" with Rev. Naylor.
Activities through the day there will be:
Games for Kids
Horseshoe Tournament sponsored by Lions Club
Treasure Hunt with a Twist sponsored by the Legion
Family Baseball Jean Guy Harvey
Mini Putt Sponsored by Larder- McGarry Snowmobile Club
Bingo Festival Committee
Historical Pictures Clark Thompson
Face Painting
Sing a Long (later in evening)
Bonfire (weather permitting)
The Festival Committee is also holding a best decorated cake
contest and the cakes will be served to the community. So brush
up on your culinary skills and bring us a cake decorated with a
Canada Day theme. Cakes should be entered by Noon at the Recreation
Centre.
The Legion Ladies Auxiliary will be providing refreshments
through the day. Bar-BQ, Candy Floss and Popcorn will be available
as well.
Proceeds from the day will be used for our 100th Anniversary
celebration in 2007. As you can see we have a Fun filled family
day planned. Please come and support your community, Bring your
family and fiends and ENJOY !
